For this neighborhood garden in West Seattle, BCRA’s landscape architects and experiential designers created a site plan to complement the existing P–Patch, with landscape and plant selections that are low maintenance and support bee behavior. A freestanding structure encloses the bee hive, with interlocking hexagons inspired from the bee hive itself. The bees have a dedicated and resilient habitat while allowing the public and surrounding community to safely and respectfully engage in bee education.
