Skagit County Stabilization Center

Location: Sedro Woolley, WA
Area: 11,470 SF

This new community-based campus will include an Evaluation and Treatment (E&T) center and subsequent substance use disorder treatment facility, with possible future expansion of two additional programs to meet a dire need in Skagit County. The E&T is a 16-bed program that provides inpatient mental health services to adults who are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms and require a secure environment to stabilize symptoms and prepare to return home or to lower levels of care. Design emphasis was placed on safety, choice and empowerment, and welcoming environments that feel like home.  The siting, design, and programming were informed by feedback from extensive community outreach and stakeholder engagement sessions, as well as best practices from innovative behavioral health programs nationwide. This facility will open for patients in 2022.
