The design of this new replacement facility serves as a focal point for the community; a welcoming hub accessible to all. The site, building, and interior were designed to be cohesive and embody the YMCA’s holistic approach of spirit, mind, and body. Inside, there is an abundance of transparency and visual connection between all activity spaces. Areas facing Mt Rainier take full advantage of views with ample glazing.
The site creates unique opportunities for exterior programming and abundant opportunity for interior/exterior connections that reinforce the community-focused environment. Multipurpose fields will serve members by offering soccer/football fields and a day camp area. The two sports fields total 2.9 acres.
The new Scott and Sis Names Family YMCA is another example of BCRA leading a team to produce an exceptional design that will serve families and community for years to come.
