Larson Apartments

Location: University Place, WA
Client: Private Developer
Area: 80 units

For this new residential facility in University Place, the client wanted to offer a building rooted in its context but distinct in the neighborhood. An underlying design driver was sparking curiosity through design that draws people in. BCRA’s designers provided timeless design that maximized the small site and introduced unexpected elements such as an outdoor plaza with art, creating a sense of entry that welcomes residents and guests alike.

Common spaces in and out are meant to foster connection among residents. Areas like the fireside lounge were created to give people a place to pause and connect. We designed the lobby/leasing area to function as a community room space with gathering areas, a kitchen, workspace, and bike storage with easy access to the outdoors. The leasing area can lock up, allowing this lobby space to be used after hours.

In the units, interior finishes employ a simple color palette with varying textures from stone and wood. A sense of sophistication is introduced through unique lighting fixtures and ample access to natural light.

With intentional design in the building, units, amenity spaces, and landscape, Larson Apartments offers a truly unique development in a competitive multifamily market.
