Located close to the Chehalis River basin, Jefferson Lincoln Elementary School Is a replacement school that will greet students at the first floor with a tree-Inspired elevator shaft that Is patterned with leaves and textures like a treetop. In response to site constraints, the arrangements of the design Include a single-story gymnasium/multipurpose area and a two-story building for the administration and classroom areas. This approach created an efficient use of space and flexible learning environments that can adapt to changes in pedagogy throughout the life of the building.
