Children’s Museum of Tacoma at JBLM is the first children’s museum on a U.S. military installation. Programming and installations focus on self-directed play that celebrates imagination and encourages creativity. BCRA’s interior designers wanted the flexible spaces to support changing exhibits and innovative ideas, so we created a multi-use entry with soft seating, movable tables, and easy supervision into other areas. Lighting and flooring guide visitors through the spaces. Two flexible program rooms support arts and learning, as well as community use. Furniture, fixtures, and color all support child- and family-centric experiences and the Children’s Museum’s beloved brand.
